Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Weatherford, TX

Answering Our Patients’
Common Questions

You always have the option of asking your dental questions in person at your next appointment or by calling our office. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with getting some of these much-needed answers ahead of time whenever possible. We hope that the FAQs listed on this page cover some of your own concerns.

How Often Do I Need to Visit the Dentist?

Normally, the American Dental Association recommends having two dental appointments each year so that your teeth can be examined and cleaned. This is generally enough to prevent minor dental issues from turning into major health problems. Additional visits may have to be scheduled if you have gum disease or another persistent oral health issue.

Can I Replace My Missing Teeth?

Yes, and you have plenty of options for doing so. Dentures offer an affordable way to replace all of your teeth at once. Bridges can be used to replace a single tooth or several consecutive teeth. You can even get implants that act as tooth roots. We can go over the benefits of each of these treatment options with you to help you figure out which one best fits your situation.

How Do I Know if I Have Gum Disease?

If you have gum disease, you may notice gums that are redder or more swollen than usual, and you might notice a bit of blood on your toothbrush or dental floss on a regular basis. Oftentimes, gum disease is first found during a routine checkup. As soon as you have reason to doubt the health of your gums, please make an appointment with us right away.

What Can I Do if I’m Unhappy with My Smile?

From veneers to cosmetic bonding to teeth whitening, we have a whole menu of cosmetic treatments to choose from. Are you bothered by the color of your smile, or are there some cracks in need of repair? Talk to us about the aspects of your teeth that you want to change, and we’ll help you find a way to get the beautiful results that you want.

Should I Call the Hospital for a Dental Emergency?

Hospitals generally aren’t equipped to repair or replace teeth. As such, unless your dental emergency is life-threatening in some way (e.g., there’s bleeding that won’t stop or you’re finding it hard to breathe), it’s better to call our office instead. We can arrange to see you right away so that you won’t have to wait too long for relief.

I’m Afraid of the Dentist; Can You Help Me?

We are able to provide oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide sedation for patients who need help remaining calm during their appointments. Ask about our sedation options when you call to set up an appointment.

Will You Accept My Dental Insurance?

We take a variety of insurance plans. Call us with your information to confirm whether or not you can use your insurance at our practice.
